A fatal motorcycle crash in Scarborough on Monday afternoon left one man dead and another person injured, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles near Markham Road and Nugget Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. Investigators say a 53-year-old woman driving a Ford Fusion attempted to turn left into a driveway on Nugget Avenue when her vehicle collided with an oncoming motorcycle operated by a 42-year-old man.
After the initial impact, the Ford Fusion continued into a parked vehicle in the driveway that contained a 25-year-old man. Police confirmed all vehicles involved remained at the scene.
The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was transported to hospital, where he later died that evening. The female driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital, while the occupant of the parked vehicle was not hurt.
Roads nearby were temporarily shut down following the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are requesting dash cam or security footage from anyone who may have captured the collision or the surrounding area.
