Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a cyclist in Glen Morris.
Emergency crews were called to East River Road around 8:30 a.m. Sunday after a cyclist was found unresponsive in a ditch alongside vehicle debris. Police say the cyclist suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved did not stay at the location.
The cyclist’s identity has not been released as police work to notify next of kin. East River Road remains closed between Glen Morris Road West and Highway 24 while investigators process the scene.
The OPP’s West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is assisting, and investigators believe the suspect vehicle likely has front-end damage. Anyone who witnessed the collision, travelled through the area, or has relevant dashcam or home surveillance footage is asked to contact Brant County OPP.
