A female cyclist in her 30s is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Stittsville. The collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Sweetnam Drive near Henry Douglas Drive.
Ottawa paramedics confirmed the woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Ottawa police have closed Sweetnam Drive between Henry Douglas Drive and Hazeldean Road as emergency crews continue to respond.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing.
