A male cyclist has been transported to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Whitby on Friday afternoon.
Durham police and paramedics were called shortly after 1:30 p.m to the area of Coronation Road and Lyndebrook Road, where the cyclist was travelling northbound when he struck a parked trailer. Emergency crews transported the cyclist to a Toronto-area trauma centre for treatment.
Coronation Road is closed in both directions between Lyndebrook Road and Stevens Road as the investigation continues.
Update – The cyclist has succumbed to his injuries.
