Fire crews responded to a house fire on Maitland Street in Brantford early Monday morning. Neighbours reported seeing flames around 7:30 a.m. Everyone inside the home was able to escape, though some occupants were treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Sadly, a dog was found dead inside the residence. The Brantford Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the blaze, and no damage estimate has been provided.
