A family dog died after a fire early Thursday morning near Harrow. The blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m. in a detached garage at a home on Smith Road between the 4th and 5th Concessions.
Fire Chief Jason Pillon said about 20 firefighters responded, but the flames spread to the house and a car in the driveway, causing extensive damage. The family was able to escape unharmed, though four people have been displaced.
Damage is estimated at approximately $750,000, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
