A dog owner in Fergus is facing charges after an aggressive, off-leash dog attacked another person and their pet. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday in a wooded area near Gauley Drive, where the unleashed dog approached and became aggressive.
Both the victim and their dog sustained minor injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police charged a 34-year-old Fergus resident under the Dog Owners’ Liability Act. Charges include two counts of failing to prevent a dog from biting or attacking a person or domestic animal, and failing to properly restrain the dog with a leash and muzzle.
