A late-night single-car collision in Orangeville on November 26 has led to multiple impaired-driving-related charges for a 20-year-old man from Dundalk.
According to Dufferin OPP, the vehicle veered out of control near Orange and Chisholm streets just after 11:30 p.m., hit a tree, and ended up stuck on a stump. Both the driver and a passenger fled toward a nearby housing complex, but officers located the driver with help from witnesses.
He now faces charges for impaired operation involving alcohol and drugs, refusing a police demand, and failing to remain at the scene. His licence has been suspended for 90 days, his vehicle impounded for a week, and he is expected to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
