Ottawa firefighters rescued a driver and her dog after a vehicle rolled onto its side near the Central Experimental Farm Monday night.
Emergency crews responded around 8:45 p.m. to the intersection of Tunis Avenue and the National Capital Commission Scenic Pathway. Firefighters found the vehicle on its side and stabilized it before beginning the rescue.
Both the driver and the dog were removed through the sunroof. Firefighters then set up a medical area to assess the driver. A firefighter at the scene who is also a trained veterinarian examined the dog and confirmed it was not injured.
Paramedics say the driver, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
