A rollover involving a GO Transit bus prompted a road closure in the south end of Barrie on Saturday morning.
Police say the bus overturned on Yonge Street near St. Paul’s Anglican Church shortly after 9 a.m. About ten people, including the driver, were on board at the time. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
Due to the incident and poor weather conditions, Yonge Street was temporarily closed between Mapleview Drive and Lockhart Road, while St. Paul’s Crescent was also shut down as emergency crews worked at the scene.
According to Barrie Police Service, passengers were later taken by another transit bus to a nearby GO station. The roadways have since reopened.
