Guelph police have arrested a man who fled the scene of a crash on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near Speedvale Avenue West and Elmira Road North. Officers say the 57-year-old driver passed a stopped vehicle and collided with another car that was backing into a driveway. He then left the scene and drove to a nearby home.
Police located and arrested him about 30 minutes later. He faces multiple charges, including impaired operation, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, dangerous operation, and failing to stop after an accident. His vehicle was impounded, and his licence has been suspended for 90 days.
