Toronto police say a driver is facing impaired driving charges after crashing into a light post near Sherway Gardens and attempting to flee.
The incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Sherway Gardens Road and Sherway Gate. Investigators say the vehicle struck a light post, knocking it down.
The driver then left the scene on foot but was located by officers a short distance away and taken into custody.
Police have since charged the individual with impaired driving.
