Ottawa Police Service reported that reckless behavior was a factor in an incident on Wednesday night when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Stittsville. The collision occurred around 8 p.m. on Turmeric Court, near Barnsbury Road.
A man in his 20s was hit by a large vehicle and transported to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed that the driver and the pedestrian were acquaintances.
Upon investigation, authorities found that reckless actions contributed to the incident. The driver was charged with offenses under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code, and his vehicle was seized.
