A fatal crash occurred Thursday afternoon in Waterloo when a vehicle struck a utility pole at the intersection of Albert Street and Seagram Drive. Emergency crews responded around 3:40 p.m., but the 24-year-old driver from Waterloo was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The intersection will remain closed for some time as authorities investigate the incident and crews work to repair the damaged pole. The cause of the crash is still being looked into, and police are urging any witnesses to come forward.
