A fatal collision involving two SUVs, a transport truck, and a cargo van occurred Friday afternoon southwest of Hamilton. The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on Highway 24 near Simcoe, claiming the life of the 64-year-old van driver from Norfolk County.
One SUV driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital, while the other SUV driver and the truck driver were unharmed. Authorities closed sections of Highway 24 and nearby Concession 13 Townsend for several hours.
The Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and have not released further details about the victim. Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage are encouraged to contact OPP.
