A 25-year-old driver is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after a fatal collision in Bracebridge that claimed the life of a 23-year-old motorcyclist Thursday night.
Emergency crews, including Muskoka paramedics and the Bracebridge Fire Department, responded to the crash shortly before 11 p.m. on Ecclestone Drive near Kirkhill Drive.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, but police said the victim later died from his injuries despite lifesaving efforts.
Ontario Provincial Police arrested the driver of the vehicle involved and charged him with impaired operation causing death and dangerous operation causing death. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, and anyone with information is being urged to contact Bracebridge OPP.
