One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Southwest Middlesex.
According to Middlesex OPP, a vehicle traveling north on Pratts Siding Road veered off the road at River Road, struck a tree, and burst into flames. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 12:45 p.m. and found the vehicle fully engulfed. The lone occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
OPP Const. Jeff Hare noted that fatal crashes in the area are becoming increasingly common.
Pratts Siding Road, between Longwoods Road and McMurchy Line, was expected to remain closed for several hours.
