A driver sustained serious injuries in Barrhaven early Saturday morning after being hit by another vehicle following a crash. Ottawa police responded around 4:30 a.m. to a single-vehicle collision on Fallowfield Road, east of Woodroffe Avenue.
After exiting their vehicle, the driver was struck by a passing car that continued westbound toward Woodroffe Avenue without stopping. The injured driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to hospital.
Fallowfield Road was closed for several hours while police investigated but has since reopened. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact the West Investigations Unit.
