Guelph police are searching for a man accused of stealing an SUV and crashing it into a hydro pole.
The white Nissan Rogue was reportedly stolen Thursday from the parking lot at Stone Road Mall. Shortly after 7 p.m., police were called to a collision at Imperial Road South and Paisley Road, where witnesses said the driver fled before officers arrived.
Police describe the suspect as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s. He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black shorts and flip-flops.
Investigators also noted that the man may have taken a brown leather jacket that the vehicle’s owner had left inside the SUV.
