Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are urging drivers to stay alert as construction season intensifies across Ottawa. This reminder follows an incident on Tuesday in which a driver entered a restricted construction zone on Highway 417 near Parkdale Avenue and struck a construction vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The driver now faces charges of careless driving and unlawfully entering a construction zone, which carry a total penalty of $600 in fines and six demerit points if convicted.
