Ottawa firefighters rescued a driver trapped after their car slid off the road on Snake Island Road amid slippery conditions and an incoming snowstorm. Police called crews around 11:37 a.m., and firefighters found the vehicle lodged in a ditch with significant front-end damage.
The occupant, who suffered multiple injuries, was stabilized as crews used specialized tools to remove both doors and the center post for extrication. By 12:33 p.m., the driver had been safely removed on a backboard.
