A dump truck caused major destruction in a Barrhaven neighborhood on Tuesday morning, damaging several parked vehicles and tearing through front yards. The incident happened around 10:47 a.m. at the intersection of Apolune Street and Cambrian Road.

According to emergency services, the truck driver suffered a medical emergency—possibly heat-related—and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. No one else was injured.

Doorbell footage from a resident captured the truck speeding through the street, striking six vehicles in total. Three of those heavily damaged cars remained at the scene hours later. Residents described the chaos and shock of the event. One homeowner lost her Chevy Equinox and reported significant damage to her yard. Another resident said she was just moments away from getting into her car when the crash occurred.

The Ottawa Police Service responded to the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
