An 83-year-old woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision involving a water tanker truck in Elgin County on Friday morning.
Emergency crews responded around 10:56 a.m. to the intersection of Sunset Road and Roberts Line, where a sedan and a tanker truck had collided. The elderly driver of the sedan was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the 48-year-old truck driver was not hurt.
Specialized OPP traffic investigators are assisting with the case, and the area remained closed for several hours as authorities examined the scene.
Update – The 83-year-old driver has died from her injuries at the hospital.
