Two individuals were hospitalized following a fire at the Knightsbridge Senior Centre in Brampton. The blaze, which started in a single unit around 7 p.m. near Bramalea Road and Queen Street East, was quickly contained and extinguished.
An elderly man in his 90s suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition. A second person was also taken to hospital, though details about their condition have not been disclosed.
While some residents were checked for smoke inhalation, no others required hospital treatment. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
