A 76-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Vaughan. York Regional Police responded to the incident around 1:30 a.m. near Highway 7 and Martin Grove Road. The man was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene, and no charges have been filed at this time. Road closures are in effect, including Highway 7 from Woodstream Boulevard to west of the intersection, and Martin Grove Road from Woodstream Boulevard to Andrew Park. These closures are expected to last several hours.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Major Collision Investigation Unit.
