An elderly woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby on Thursday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police say officers were called to the intersection of Brock Street North and Mary Street West around 1:15 p.m. after a single vehicle hit the female pedestrian while she crossed the street.
The woman was rushed to hospital in serious condition. Roads in the area were closed while police conducted their investigation.
Update – On Saturday, police says the elderly woman, aged 82, has died from her injuries.
