A Friday morning crash in West Perth has claimed the life of an 89-year-old Stratford woman.

The two-vehicle collision occurred shortly after 9 a.m. at the intersection of Perth Road 180 and Perth Line 36. Emergency crews from Perth and Huron counties responded alongside the West Perth Fire Department.

The woman was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles and was found with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash prompted temporary closures on Perth Road 180 from Line 34 to Line 39 and Perth Line 36 between Perth Road 179 and Manley Line. The affected roads have since reopened.
