A 96-year-old woman was seriously injured in a collision in downtown Toronto’s Regent Park on Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. near Dundas Street East and Sackville Street when the senior was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police confirmed that the driver stayed at the scene. Roads in the area were temporarily closed for the investigation but have since reopened.
