An 18-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old boy injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon just east of Guelph. The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Emergency crews, including an Ornge air ambulance, responded to the scene.
Police said the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 16-year-old was airlifted to a Hamilton trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries. It remains unclear who was driving the vehicle.
Eastview Road was closed between Davis Street and Jones Baseline for several hours for investigation and cleanup. Wellington County OPP are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
