A fatal three-vehicle collision on Manitoulin Island has resulted in one death.
The crash, which involved two passenger vehicles and a commercial truck, occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 540 near Concession Road 8 in Billings Township. Manitoulin OPP, UCCM Police, and paramedics attended the scene.
Highway 540 is expected to remain closed for several hours while investigators examine the circumstances of the incident.
Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to the OPP.
Update – A 33-year-old Manitoulin Island resident, Kyle Bond, has been confirmed as the deceased driver. One other driver suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to hospital, while the remaining two drivers were unhurt.
