Three people were killed in a crash involving a transport truck and an SUV on Highway 11 west of Hearst, according to Ontario Provincial Police. The collision happened around 6 p.m. Saturday near the junction of Highway 11 and Highway 631.

A 36-year-old man from Kenora, a 36-year-old woman from Greenstone, and a 57-year-old man from Constance Lake were all pronounced dead at the scene. Police reported no additional injuries. Highway 11 was closed in both directions between Highway 631 and Highway 625 near Longlac for approximately 22 hours while investigators examined the scene, reopening shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday.

OPP say technical collision investigators and a reconstruction specialist were involved, but have not released further details about the drivers, the vehicles the victims were in, or whether charges may be laid.
