A fatal single-vehicle crash on Highway 11-17 east of Thunder Bay claimed the life of one driver early Sunday. Ontario Provincial Police responded around 1:50 a.m. to the scene near Spruce River Road in Shuniah after reports of a pickup truck collision.
The driver, a 46-year-old man from Thunder Bay and the only occupant, was pronounced dead.
The crash led to multiple lane closures between Spruce River Road and Terry Fox Lookout Road while officers conducted their investigation.
The highway reopened just before noon, and the investigation is ongoing.
