A 51-year-old man from Gatineau has died after a late-night crash on Highway 401 in eastern Ontario.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes west of Gananoque. Investigators say a pickup truck and a transport truck were involved in a T-bone crash.
The pickup driver was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The transport truck driver was not hurt.
The highway remained closed for roughly eight hours overnight while officers examined the scene. No charges have been announced, and police are asking anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage to come forward.
