A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred in Porcupine leading to one death, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
The crash involved a car and an SUV on Highway 101, which is now closed in both directions between Gervais Street North and Falcon Street.
Emergency crews expect the closure to last for an extended period while they manage the scene. Authorities advise drivers to seek alternate routes.
Update – A 20-year-old man from Schumacher is facing a charge of careless driving causing death. After a bail hearing, he was released from custody and is set to appear before the court in Timmins on February 26, 2026. The victim is identified to be 69-year-old James Bolger of Iroquois Falls.
