A fatal two-vehicle crash has shut down Highway 69 in both directions Tuesday morning near Britt, leaving two people dead.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. and involved a southbound passenger vehicle and a northbound commercial vehicle. Authorities confirmed the two victims were occupants of the passenger vehicle.

As a result, Highway 69 has been closed between Highway 522 in Cranberry and Highway 124 in Parry Sound. Additional closures are in place, including Highway 400 northbound at Highway 124 and Highway 69 southbound at Highway 522.

Officers from the West Parry Sound detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police remained on scene for several hours, supported by the traffic incident management enforcement team, as they worked to determine the cause of the collision.
