A fire broke out at a hardware store in Elmvale on Saturday afternoon, drawing multiple firefighting units to the scene. The blaze started just before 4 p.m. at the BMR store on County Road 27 and Flos Road 8. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames at the back of the building.
Springwater Township’s deputy fire chief reported that firefighters acted quickly, bringing the fire under control within 30 minutes with the help of four stations and 30 personnel.
No injuries were reported, and while the cause isn’t considered suspicious, the investigation is ongoing. The main store area suffered only minor smoke damage, and it is expected to reopen as usual on Tuesday.
