A section of Adelaide Street in Toronto’s West-Queen West area has reopened after a fire at a semi-detached home on Friday afternoon. Emergency crews responded around 1:50 p.m. to reports of a blaze at a home near Stanley Park.
Toronto Fire officials said the fire started on a second-floor balcony and spread inside the house. Firefighters were able to enter the building and extinguish the flames. No one was inside at the time, and no injuries have been reported.
The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation. Adelaide Street West was temporarily closed between Strachan Avenue and Stanley Terrace, but roads have since reopened.
