A Toronto firefighter was taken to hospital with minor injuries after battling a house fire in Scarborough late Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded around 5:45 p.m. to reports of a fire at an unoccupied home in the Port Union neighbourhood, on Lawrence Avenue East near Centennial Road. The blaze was extinguished and no other injuries were reported.
Paramedics confirmed one person was transported to hospital. Road closures were put in place in the area, and drivers were advised to use alternate routes.
