Hamilton police are looking into whether speed or a failure to stop at a stop sign may have contributed to a crash in Flamborough on Tuesday afternoon that injured six teenagers and an adult. The accident, involving a Volvo and a KIA minivan, occurred at Valens Road and Concession 5 West just before 3 p.m.
The minivan’s driver, a teenager, and five other teenage passengers were taken to the hospital with various injuries, including one female with life-threatening wounds. The adult driver of the Volvo was also hospitalized as a precaution.
While the cause of the crash remains unclear, authorities have ruled out driver impairment and are focusing on speed and a potential failure to obey the stop sign as possible factors. Anyone with information is urged to contact traffic investigators or Crime Stoppers.
