Two people were airlifted to hospital and three others were injured following a head-on collision in Alliston early Thursday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police responded shortly after midnight to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 89 between Concession Road 4 and County Road 13 in New Tecumseth. The roadway was closed overnight while emergency crews investigated but has since reopened.
Simcoe County Paramedics say one vehicle was occupied by a 29-year-old driver, while the other carried three passengers: two 19-year-old men and an 18-year-old woman.
The woman suffered minor injuries and remains in a local hospital. The three men were taken to a Toronto-area hospital, with two transported by air and one by ground. Their injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
