Waterloo regional police are investigating a high-speed crash that caused an SUV to roll several times early Saturday. Officers were called to Shantz Station Road near Menno Road around 6:45 a.m. and found a severely damaged Toyota Rav4 with no one inside.

Five occupants were later located and treated for minor injuries. Investigators believe the driver was travelling at more than 180 km/h before losing control, leading to the rollover.

A 17-year-old from Kitchener is charged with dangerous driving, stunt driving, careless driving, failing to remain, and driving without a licence. Police are seeking witnesses or dash-cam footage and ask anyone with information to contact their Traffic Services Unit.
