Five people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Waterloo Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to the crash at the intersection of University Avenue East and Lincoln Road around 2:30 p.m. The collision involved a Toyota and a Nissan SUV driven by a 25-year-old and a 34-year-old.
Both drivers and three passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
The intersection remained closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene but has since reopened. The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit continues to investigate, and charges are expected.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage to come forward.
