Four people were taken into custody after a dangerous driving incident on Saturday that resulted in two police officers sustaining minor injuries and multiple police vehicles being damaged.
Authorities responded to reports of a white Volkswagen hatchback, without license plates, aggressively tailing another vehicle on Highway 8. The driver then ran a red light, drove in the wrong direction on an on-ramp near King Street East, and collided head-on with a police cruiser. The car also struck two additional cruisers during the chaos.
The two officers involved were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital. At the scene, police arrested the 18-year-old male driver, along with two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy. All four face charges, including criminal harassment and disguise with intent. The driver also faces charges of dangerous driving, evading police, failing to stop, and stunt driving.
Investigators suspect other vehicles may have been damaged during the incident and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
