A serious collision has shut down the westbound collector lanes of Highway 401 in Scarborough Wednesday night.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the crash near Port Union Road at approximately 7:48 p.m. Four people were taken to hospital, with one suffering life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances leading to the collision have not yet been determined. Police warned motorists that the closure would continue for several hours as investigators examined the scene and crews completed cleanup work.
