Four people, including a child, were hospitalized after a gas leak at a mixed-use building in Toronto’s Weston area.
The incident occurred at 1942 Weston Rd., just north of Lawrence Avenue West. Toronto Fire reported being called shortly after 5 p.m. for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, firefighters found a patient showing signs of carbon monoxide poisoning and detected elevated levels of the gas in the building.
The building was evacuated, and buses were provided as temporary shelter. Paramedics transported three adults and a child to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the gas leak remains under investigation.
