A major two-vehicle collision shut down a stretch of Highway 11 in northern Ontario for more than three hours on Friday, sending four people to hospital.
Ontario Provincial Police closed the highway in both directions between Bryans Road in Englehart and Highway 65 in New Liskeard shortly after 4 p.m. as emergency crews responded to the scene. Drivers were advised to steer clear of the area and find alternate routes while police investigated and crews cleared the wreckage.
The highway reopened just before 7:30 p.m. once the scene was cleared. Police later confirmed that four occupants were hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
