Fire crews responded to a residential contents fire in Barrie’s northwest early Wednesday morning, prompting the deployment of four units.

Barrie Fire and Emergency Services were called just after 7 a.m. to a small building on Edge Hill Drive between Cedar Point and Anne Street. While the structure itself was not damaged, the fire destroyed contents inside the building.

Several occupants were assessed for smoke inhalation. Two people were treated at the scene, while another two were taken to hospital and later released.

Residents were temporarily displaced but have since returned home. Officials say the fire appears to have been caused by an electrical issue.
