A devastating house fire early Friday morning in Georgetown destroyed one home and damaged two others on Arborglen Drive near Main Street South. The fire broke out around 4:20 a.m., prompting a swift response from emergency crews. All occupants were safely evacuated, with one person treated for minor injuries.

Neighbour Amad Chaudhary played a crucial role in rescuing a family trapped inside. After hearing a loud noise and spotting flames, he and another neighbour jumped a fence to reach the burning home. They found a family of four at a window, surrounded by smoke, and used a ladder to help them escape just before another explosion occurred.

Fire officials confirmed the blaze is not considered suspicious, and no criminal activity is suspected. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to investigate the cause. Police continue to manage traffic in the affected area.
