A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in North York on Friday evening.
Toronto police say the collision happened just after 6 p.m. in the area of Steeles Avenue West and Islington Avenue. Emergency crews responded and transported the child to hospital, where she was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and police continue to investigate.
