A 34-year-old man from Guelph is facing charges after a serious four-vehicle crash resulted in significant injuries and extensive property damage. The collision occurred Monday around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Laird Road and Southgate Drive.
According to police, the incident began when the man, driving an SUV, lost control during a turn. The vehicle veered off the road, crossed a grassy area, re-entered traffic, and struck two other SUVs. It then continued across the street and collided forcefully with a transport truck, damaging the truck’s rear axle.
One of the SUV drivers sustained head and neck injuries and was transported to the hospital. Investigators estimate the total damage from the crash to be around $150,000.
The driver has been charged with dangerous driving and violating the conditions of a G1 licence by not being accompanied by a fully licensed driver.
